Step 5: ask participants to utilize what was learned during the conversation by answering questions that facilitate them to apply new information learned from the discussion to their own situation

Facilitator Technician

During the conversation, it is not appropriate for you to act as a facilitator technician if the content of the conversation is to come from the participants. So, avoid making an offer. Also, do not present your unsolicited opinion. The results from the conversation are the product of group thinking. The facilitator’s mark should not be on the results.

How do you stay away from discussion and live in the role of facilitator? Count your convenience! Skilled facilitators call for a wide range of skills and techniques to help the group understand and achieve their common objectives. They are content, and its champions, do not act.
